Faster, Higher, Stronger: How Mechanical Engineer Bex Lilley is Helping Kiwi Athletes Go for Gold

St. Margaret's College alumna Bex Lilley stands as the sole mechanical engineer at the High Performance Sport New Zealand's Goldmine hub of sporting innovation. Her role revolves around developing cutting-edge technology that will propel Aotearoa New Zealand's athletes to the podium at the Olympics and Paralympics.

Whether it's finding solutions to repair Dame Sophie Pascoe's favourite prosthetic leg or providing Dame Lisa Carrington with invaluable insights into the force exerted with each stroke of her kayak paddle, what really helps Bex find job satisfaction is knowing how investment from high-performance sport can improve health and social outcomes for all Kiwis.
