Parent Community Involvement
Cultivating connections
St Margaret's College has a strong and active community of parents, caregivers, alumnae and supporters who contribute to school life in meaningful ways.
The Parents and Friends Association, the Old Girls' Association and the Foundation each play a distinct role, but all three share the same commitment to the College and the girls it serves.
If your family is new to St Margaret's, or you would like to be more closely involved in school life, this guide is a good place to start.
Our St Margaret's Community
The Parents and Friends Association comprises current parents, caregivers and friends of the College. The PFA's mission is friend-raising rather than fundraising and it is focused on promoting and nurturing positive connections for parents and whānau in an active, inclusive community. PFA members organise and host events throughout the year in support of community building, and hold informal meetings and catch-ups twice per term.
The St Margaret's College Foundation provides sustainable financial support to the College, drawing on the generosity of current and past parents, alumnae and friends of St Margaret's. The Foundation is committed to generating and stewarding funds that enable the College to continue its history of excellence, and hosts a number of events throughout the year for the community, including the Foundation Spring Lunch.
The Old Girls' Association brings together St Margaret's alumnae, nurturing connections from the past, enriching the present and inspiring the future. The Association hosts events for alumnae on campus and globally, as well as for current students through the Career Bytes programme, and is responsible for the Leavers' Ball, a celebration for families at the end of their daughter's Year 13.
