Vision & Values
Blessed are the pure in heart

Led by our Executive Principal Diana Patchett and our Trust Board, St Margaret’s College maintains an unwavering commitment to its founding aspiration to educate and form young women of outstanding character. More than 110 years later, the College continues to chart a voyage of vision, dedication, and growth for its students, while adapting continuously to ensure our students are ready to make their way in a rapidly evolving world.

Our vision: To create empathetic, confident and connected global citizens, who value personal excellence and strive to make a positive difference.

Our purpose: Empowering girls to learn, live and lead.

Our values: Integrity, Excellence, Resilience, Equality and Higher purpose.

Integrity: We are respectful, honest and open. We are true to our founding Anglican values, and committed to acknowledging the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, our nation’s bicultural foundations, and to enabling our students to acquire knowledge of Te Reo and Ngā Tikanga Māori.

Excellence: We encourage and support our students and staff to discover their passions and be the very best they can be. We promote lifelong learning and innovation, and we embrace change.

Resilience: We act to sustain the hauora (wellbeing) of our people and our planet and we challenge ourselves to pursue sustainability in every aspect of our College and community.

Equality: We work collaboratively, embrace diversity and nurture each girl’s unique strengths. We celebrate our nation’s bicultural identity and enact Te Tiriti o Waitangi through partnership, protection and participation.

Higher purpose: We serve others with grace and gratitude. We work with our community to foster a culture of generosity that inspires our girls to make a positive contribution to society.
