The Foundation
A legacy of support and generosity
The St Margaret's College Foundation is a testament to the enduring spirit of generosity that is deeply ingrained in our culture and community. Established in 2009, the Foundation generates and stewards gifts and donations that support the College to achieve its vision and mission.
In the wake of the 2011 Christchurch earthquakes, the Foundation successfully raised and managed substantial funds that were crucial for the redevelopment and reconstruction of the College campus and facilities. This achievement reflects the Foundation's efficacy and commitment to ensuring a secure and prosperous future for the College.
Today, the Foundation funds a range of initiatives that enable St Margaret's College students to realise their potential in a supportive and well-resourced environment. This includes: Scholarships, Wellbeing and student experience, Teaching and leadership, Building, technology and campus enhancement.
The Foundation has recently introduced a new fund structure to bring greater clarity and transparency, and to ensure meaningful outcomes. This reorganisation highlights our intent to create significant, long-term contributions to the College, while also addressing immediate needs and creating opportunities for community involvement.
Our priorities for 2024 have been thoughtfully defined to ensure that the focused generation and allocation of funds beyond the College's operating expenses remain central to our purpose. We steadfastly support the College in its vision of nurturing empathetic, confident and connected global citizens who are poised to make a positive impact in the world.
