A celebration of the many cultures, languages and stories that shape our community.
Students arrived in ancestral dress representing a wide range of nationalities, each outfit telling its own story of heritage and identity. It was a powerful visual reminder of just how diverse our College is, and how fortunate we are to learn alongside one another every day.
A highlight of the assembly was a global panel of students and staff, who shared personal reflections on culture, identity and belonging. Their honesty and insight offered a meaningful window into different lived experiences. Another memorable moment came when a group of students took the stage to teach the audience how to say “hello” in their languages.
The celebrations continued afterwards with our International Fiesta, led by our Junior School families. In a truly impressive effort, 14 different cultures were represented across a vibrant collection of stalls, no small feat in a small Junior School.
The Fiesta was full of colour, conversation and discovery. There was food to taste, games to try and challenges to take on, with each stall offering a unique glimpse into a different part of the world. Every girl was encouraged to visit each stall, learning how to say “hello” in another language as she went, turning the afternoon into a lively, hands-on cultural journey.
It was a day that captured the spirit of St Margaret’s so well. A community that celebrates difference, values connection and creates opportunities for every girl to feel seen, heard and proud of who she is.
