As the heavens opened, a number of brave and slightly soggy St Margaret's families ran the gauntlet to celebrate togetherness, laughter, and a few delicious treats.
The event kicked off with warm scones, lashings of jam and cream, and was soon followed by elegant tiers of finger sandwiches, sweets, and high tea favourites. A highlight of the afternoon was a light-hearted game played by a mother-daughter duo from Years 12 and 13, alongside Principal Mrs Patchett and her 90-year-old mum, Joan. Joan had the crowd in stitches with her spirited energy and candid admission that her ideal job is to one day run a pub.
The laughter, connection, and community displayed made it a truly memorable afternoon. We look forward to doing it all again as we celebrate Mother’s Day next year.
