Rowing: National champions, securing the Levin Jubilee Cup for the U18 eight, for the U18 pair, U16 eight, and U18 novice coxed four. Our rowers also brought home 1 silver and 4 bronze medals, with 15 crews finishing in the top ten in New Zealand.

Coco Flood and Aine Leeson have been selected as NZ Junior trialists, while Anna Rutherford, Scout Phiskie, Poppy Blakely, and Ellie Scotland have been selected as South Island U18 trialists.

Volleyball: National champions - a historic first for St Margaret’s. Lulu Inglis, Hannah Millar, and Delilah Brown were named to the tournament team, and Julia Mitchell was awarded Most Valuable Player.

Tennis: Fifth place in the top division nationally, following their victory at the South Island Secondary School Tennis Championships last month.

Cricket: Canterbury Regional Girls 1st XI Cup Champions, earning a spot in the national tournament in December.

Water polo: Fourth in the South Island, now preparing for the Division 2 national tournament in April.

Touch Rugby: A developing team that is already achieving eighth place in the South Island.

Triathlon: The intermediate team claimed first place in the South Island, with Elza Harrington finishing second in the U14 category.

Over 160 students represented St Margaret’s College during Summer Tournament Week, supported by more than 30 dedicated coaches and managers.

Executive Principal Diana Patchett said: "It’s incredible to see our athletes excel at such a high level, but what makes us most proud is that over 90 percent of our students actively participate in sport - whether they’re representing New Zealand, striving for a title, or simply playing for the love of the game. Their commitment and the lifelong love of sport we see in our alumnae are what defines sport at St Margaret’s."

Director of Sport Helen Belcher reflected: "These outstanding results are a testament to the dedication, perseverance, and teamwork of our girls. Whether competing on the water, court, or field, they continue to inspire us, supported by coaches and managers whose unwavering support nurtures confidence and resilience.

Later this week, St Margaret’s students will participate in Canterbury Swimming, South Island Athletics, and South Island Korfball tournaments, as well as the South Island Satellite Volleyball tournament and South Island Ultimate Frisbee Cup as a combined team with Shirley Boys' High.
