Combining innovation with food, Christchurch is home to a world-leading online culinary school breaking global boundaries. Meet Cheryl and Andy Cordier, the creatives behind International Culinary School, a global leader in chef qualification and certification. Recognised by the WorldChefs Association, two of their global courses are American Culinary Federation accredited. For New Zealanders, they are NZQA accredited so that students can study towards the New Zealand Certificate in Cookery Level 4 or the New Zealand Diploma in Cookery Level 5.
For the everyday gourmet short courses are available such as Cake Baking and Decorating, Café Chef, Café Baker and Barista courses. Get the teenagers in on the action, too with a Home School Culinary programme for ages 12 to 19.
At International Culinary School, they believe that learning should be a fun and social experience. That's why Executive Chef Andy hosts Grazing Board demonstrations, where you can learn new skills while enjoying a relaxed evening with friends. They also cater to corporate events, offering unique activities like Christchurch food scavenger hunts that culminate in a cooking demo and a feast of delights focussing on sustainability and using local, Māori traditional foraged items. And if you're feeling competitive, you can test your skills in a MasterChef-style event. They even have an in-person holiday program for young culinary enthusiasts.
Whether you're looking for qualifications that will take you around the world or a break with friends to enjoy amazing food and fun hosts, International Culinary Studio has it all right here in Christchurch. Join their events hosted at the White Fantail Cafe on Warrington Street and be prepared to be blown away!
