PRODUCTION UPDATE
Shout it from the chimneys! This is going to be one SUPERCALIFRAGILISTIC SHOW!
The holidays have seen wonderful rehearsals for the Featured Dancers, supported by choreographer Rylie MacGibbon. Our dancers have worked on their tap skills, learning the longest dance pieces in the show “Step in Time” in a day and finishing several other show-stopping numbers. We look forward to returning to rehearsals in earnest with the start of Term Two.
As May begins, we look forward to being able to promote and advertise the show in full. We look forward to showcasing our cast members in many ways, with profiles of all the siblings in the cast, performances at many school events and juniors; look out for a special appearance from Mary Poppins on the gate at some point this term.
Look out for the ticket details in the next newsletter. Save the date, as this show will sell out.

TWILIGHT CONCERT 2024
Our annual Twilight concert was a spectacular way to end the term, filled with creativity, passion and energy!
We enjoyed many performances from our many (and large!) choirs, jazz band, rock bands, instrumental groups, various dance groups and our incredible Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Festival competitors. We love celebrating your work and seeing you TAKE THE FLOOR with dedication and joy.
Photos from our wonderful photographer, Petra Mingneau, are now available to order through Smug Link. Check them out here:

There are 25 regional festivals around the country. From each of these regional competitions, one 15-minute and one 5-minute scene was selected to go to the National Festival over King's Birthday weekend. The festival encompasses three days of workshops, performances and awards.
The festival also creates a pathway for students into the National Shakespeare in Schools Production week, where 45 students out of hundreds are selected across both the regions and at the national festival, which are then whittled down to 25 who go to the Globe in London as New Zealand's Young Shakespeare Company.
Our staff also shone over the weekend; a huge thank you to Georgia Lassen, who has also been selected as one of the members of Teachers Go Global (the teaching equivalent to the Young Shakespeare Company) and will tread the boards at the Globe this year in July. She has worked tirelessly over the term to support these students.
Thank you to Megan Herd for her mentorship of both Georgia and the students in the build-up and to Stacy Goldsworthy for costuming all the groups and doing hair and makeup on the day. The costume award is a testament to her efforts.
Congratulations to all our incredible students who took the stage. We are really excited to head to Wellington over King’s Birthday Weekend to further support your work on the stage of the St James Theatre!
