At St Margaret’s College, one of the great pleasures of school life is seeing girls discover a passion and then grow in confidence as they pursue it.

Our contemporary music programme is becoming one of the most exciting examples of that growth. More and more girls are picking up instruments, forming bands, rehearsing together, and finding real joy in making music. What may begin as an interest quickly becomes something more, with our girls writing and recording original songs and performing in festivals.

This year, our Annual Giving will focus on supporting that momentum.

The exponential growth of our rock and contemporary bands has been remarkable. With that growth comes the need to ensure that our students have access to the kind of equipment that will both support their learning and lift the standard of what they are able to achieve. If we want to nurture this area well, we must provide resources that match the talent, commitment, enthusiasm and aspirations of the girls involved.

Funds raised will go towards building the contemporary music resources available to our students, including professional-standard equipment that will strengthen rehearsals, performances and the overall experience of girls involved in this vibrant part of school life.

A gift to this campaign is an investment in much more than instruments and sound equipment. It is an investment in the confidence of a girl who is brave enough to perform, the collaboration that comes from learning to play alongside others and in a programme that is clearly striking a chord with many of our students.
