Stella Foulds' Journey: From Global Roots to NYU's Prestige

Stella Foulds' educational journey spans continents, from London to New York to New Zealand, culminating in acceptance to NYU's prestigious Liberal Studies program in Florence.

From a foundation balanced across continents, Stella Foulds ( on the right and her sister Rosie on the left,) began her St Margaret’s College education in 2015. Born in London and growing up in New York, Stella was ready to expand on her global citizenship with a stint in the country of her parents' birth. She studied at SMC from Year 5 to 12. Leaving in 2022, Stella completed a Level 5 Creative Marketing Diploma at Yoobee College in 2023, intending to return to the US.

Applying to a dozen colleges on both the West and East coasts of America and ready to move on an offer she received, Stella was pleasantly surprised when she was accepted into the prestigious New York University. With a highly competitive acceptance rate of just 8% this year, Stella was thrilled to be moving back to the city of her childhood to study the 'Liberal Studies Core’ programme with the entire first year (two semesters) to be spent in Florence, Italy.

NYU’s Florence campus offers a unique and enriching experience. The programme allows students to immerse themselves in the heart of Italy, studying a wide range of subjects, from art and history to contemporary issues in fashion, politics, and sustainability. Stella looks forward to the campus environment, a comfortable and breathtaking home blending Florence’s modern urban life and historic charm.

Overall, the Liberal Studies Core programme at NYU Florence offers a transformative experience for students. It allows them to delve into Italy's rich cultural heritage while gaining a deeper understanding of global issues and building valuable skills for the future and Stella can’t wait to dive in. In the meantime, it’s a trip to San Francisco to see her sister Rosie (SMC 2015-2019) graduate Polisci summa cum laude from University College Berkeley and a summer in New York before leaving for Florence at the end of August.
