The competition, which follows on from Cantamath, challenges students to solve a series of demanding mathematical problems under pressure. This year, SMC entered three teams, with all students representing the College with focus, determination and impressive teamwork.
Our winning team achieved a remarkable score of 134 out of 140 points, finishing six points clear of second place. It was an exceptional performance in a highly competitive field.
Congratulations to our winning team:
Tyra Zhang
Victoria Soh
Yena Song
Tracey Hsai
This is a fantastic achievement and a wonderful reflection of their mathematical ability, problem-solving skills and calm thinking under pressure.
A huge well done also goes to all of the SMC students who took part. The competition involves two hours of intense problem-solving against other Year 11 students, and our teams handled the challenge brilliantly.
