SMC Senior Dancers - Corporate Gala performance

Wednesday 4th, April celebrated nine of our talented senior dancers who joined the performers in Otautahi's leading professional company, Epic Entertainment, in a conceptualised corporate performance at Te Pae Convention Centre Christchurch.

It was such an honour to be invited to join the team of industry professional dancers in a National Gala awards evening performance. The dance and screen interactive performance - 'The Braided Rivers' - was created by Ali Rossiter and Gemma Dudson to reflect the dance of water along the braided rivers of Canterbury. The weave and flow of water, reflecting the weave of community, friendships and connection - which was the theme for the event - Partnership.

Dancers rehearsed for many hours to achieve the precision and polish required for this level of industry performance and we were very proud of the commitment and professionalism the St Margaret's College dancers displayed throughout this event.

Thank you to Miss Cain for her support of the dancers and to the dancers - Lily Griffiths, Alex Ellwood, Coco Brady, Georgia Campbell, Hollie Cudd, Isla O'Donnell, Lucy Lewis, Nova Gainsford, Scarlett Austin.

Industry opportunities provide such insight into the world beyond our dance classes and training, we are so grateful for these extension learning opportunities.  Well done dancers, you should be very proud of yourselves and your representation of SMC Dance.
